Arranging bedroom furniture in a square room is similar to any other bedroom in many aspects, by starting with the bed for example. However, there are also some differences which will be discussed in this article:
- Placing the bed in the middle of the wall?
- What to do when having little space?
- What is the focal point?
Placing the bed in the middle of the wall?
It is often a good idea to place the bed in the middle of the room. This way you make sure that the rooms remain symmetrical which can be soothing for the eye. The main advantage, when the bedroom is meant for two people, is that they will both have space on their side of the bed to place a night desk and get out of bed easily. This way, it is easier to not disturb your partner when having to leave for work earlier.
What to do when having little space?
As discussed in the previous point, it is often a good idea to place the bed in the middle of the room. However, if the room is a square room, it could be that there is little space left to stand in front of your closet or sit behind your desk. By putting the bed in the middle of the wall, and therefore in the middle of the room, you lose a lot of space. Instead, when lacking space, you could place your bed in a corner of the room to create extra space on one side for other furniture.
What is the focal point?
In a square room, the bed is the focal point when placed in the middle. When doing so, make sure that the rest of the room follows this lead, by placing the tv, or a fireplace for example, on the opposite wall in the middle as well.
